How does Totap cards work?

Totap cards employ Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to facilitate instant information sharing. By simply tapping a Totap card against a smartphone, the card’s embedded chip activates and directs the phone to a webpage, contact details, payment options, or any other digital action you’ve programmed it to perform. It’s a seamless blend of physical and digital interaction, making information exchange quick and effortless.

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols that enable two electronic devices, one of which is usually a portable device such as a smartphone, to establish communication by bringing them within 4 cm of each other. NFC is used for simpler transactions, data exchange, and wireless connections, allowing for secure, contactless interactions without the need for manual setup or device discovery.

Yes, Totap values customer satisfaction and confidence in our products. We use one of the highest grades of NFC cards with NTAG216 chips, which offers a 100,000-tap lifespan. In addition, we offer a comprehensive warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for our cards. This warranty ensures that if your Totap card is not functioning as promised under normal use, we will provide you with a replacement, adhering to our commitment to quality and customer service. Please note that this does not cover obvious signs of negligence or deliberate damage to the card.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to amend the cards, especially if your order has been shipped. We use specific machinery and software to program our cards, therefore, it’s extremely important you provide us with the correct information, i.e. URL. Although we are not accountable for incorrect details provided on your order, we do repeatedly test before shipping, so if our team feels that something is wrong, we will be in touch to check. With this being said, yes, it is possible to amend where your Totap card is directed to, but not remotely. If the card(s) are delivered back to our centre, we can reprogram your Totap card to a different destination. This costs a one-off fee of £19 per card + applicable shipping costs. If the fault lies with Totap, due to human error or any other reason covered in our warranty, there will be nothing to pay.

We offer free shipping on all orders placed directly on our website – www.totap.co.uk. Our fulfilment partners are Royal Mail, and we use a range of their services, such as Tracked 48 and Signed For 1st Class, depending on the order. At this moment in time, we can only accept orders that are delivered within the UK. For our non-bespoke cards, our standard delivery is up to 5 working days. For bespoke orders, please allow up to 10 working days.  If you have any issues with your delivery or have any questions related to shipping, please contact us using our contact page.

We work extremely hard to provide the best possible service to our customers, whether that’s the product themselves or our customer service. If you are not 100% satisfied with your order, please contact support@totap.co.uk, and a member of our team will be delighted to help rectify any issues you may be facing.

Minimum quantities are set for certain orders, particularly custom designs, to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency in production. This policy helps us maintain high-quality products at competitive prices, providing value to our customers.

When placing a custom order, you’ll be asked to upload your design file(s). If you’re unable to, the upload(s) are too large or unsupported, you can send it to our design team via WeTransfer instead: support@totap.co.uk. Please be sure to include your order number. Although we are not responsible for your artwork, for example, incorrect or low quality design, our team always manually check and may be in touch to discuss. You can request an eProof before we send your custom order to print, however, please note this may delay your shipping.

The formats we accept for custom artwork are: 1. High-Quality PNG and 2. High-Quality Print PDF in CMYK. If you do not have either of these formats, please contact support@totop.co.uk before placing your order. Although our design team checks every order manually, we are not responsible for wrong artwork, mistakes – such as spelling errors as well as low quality issues. On these occasions, we will try our best to contact you before sending your order to print.

Yes you can! When it comes to our custom orders, we’re delighted to offer ‘Variable Printing’ at no additional cost. Examples of variable data could include text fields (name, title, contact details) photo IDs and QR codes. As long as the background image common to all the prints remains the same, variable data can be personalised. Absolutely! Totap cards are made from biodegradable PVC, significantly reducing our ecological footprint. But we don’t stop there – for every custom order placed, we plant a tree, further contributing to environmental sustainability.
